About Us
Founded in September 2002, the Swansea Fair Trade Forum is a network of local groups, businesses and individuals committed to the principles of fair trade. A small committee of members meet four or five times a year to plan activities and ensure that Swansea's status as a Fairtrade County is maintained. This means organising events and awareness raising campaigns, especially during Fairtrade Fortnight, and ensuring that key institutions and a good number of outlets are committed to supporting Fairtrade.

Activities and Partners
Over the past 20 years, Swansea Fair Trade Forum has organised a wide range of events, stalls, talks, workshops and other activities to raise awareness of fair trade. We have also support other groups to run their own events or start their own fair trade groups. Recently, we have been mapping where fair trade products can be bought in Swansea.
We hold a store of fair trade leaflets and exhibition materials. The committee generally meets every 2 or 3 months. If you would like to get involved with the group e.g. helping out at events or being part of the committee, please get in touch.
We have strong links to Fair Trade Wales which supports local groups across Wales.
Swansea Fair Trade Forum is affiliated to the FairTrade Foundation which manages the use of the Fairtrade Mark in the UK and is the lead organisation for promoting Fairtrade. |
