Sun 20th Sep – Fair Trade Walk: Swansea to Mumbles
10.30am. Join members of Swansea Fair Trade Forum on this 5-mile walk around Swansea Bay to raise awareness of Zaytoun's Fair Trade products. Meet at 10.30am at the Environment Centre to head off at 11am. The walk will end at Ty Filasteen, where Palestinian drinks and snacks will be available. Sun 20th Sep – Fairtrade-themed Service at Capel y Nant 10.30-11.30am. A church service in Clydach’s Capel y Nant to celebrate the start of Fairtrade Fortnight. Fairtrade refreshments and a Fairtrade stall following the service. Mon 21st Sep to Sat 3rd Oct – Fairtrade Display at Clydach Library An opportunity to find out more about Fairtrade. The library is open Mon, Tue, Wed and Fri from 9am-1pm and 1.30-5.30pm, and on Sat from 10am to 1pm (closed Thu and Sun). Mon 21st Sep – Fairtrade Coffee Morning at Oxfam Shop 11am. The Oxfam Books and Music Shop in Castle Street, Swansea welcomes all to its annual Fairtrade Coffee Morning. Wed 23rd Sep – Books, Film and Music Quiz 7.30pm. Oxfam Books and Music Shop in Swansea’s Castle Street will host their popular quiz with a special round for Fairtrade Fortnight. Fairtrade refreshments available. Doors open 7pm. Quiz starts 7.30pm. Come as a team or join one when you arrive. Thu 24th Sep – Fairtrade Stall at Mumbles Co-op Store 11am-1pm. Information about Co-op’s commitment to Fairtrade and British farming, highlighting local/seasonal produce. Thu 1st Oct – Fair Pay for Farmers: Locally and Globally 6.30-8.30pm. Hear from local farmers and Fairtrade champions in this joint event with Bwyd Abertawe Food Partnership and Swansea Fair Trade Forum. Discuss how farmers can be supported both locally and globally. Hot food and drinks will be provided at the start of the event and there will also be a Fairtrade stall. Fri 2nd Oct – Capel y Nant Coffee Morning 10.30am-12.30pm. Pop in to Capel y Nant in Clydach to enjoy a Fairtrade coffee or tea, and a chat. Free event, no booking required. Sat 3rd Oct – Fairtrade Fun Palace 11am at Oxfam Books and Music Shop in Swansea. Fun Palaces will be happening across the world this weekend, with local people sharing their skills, creativity and knowledge. More details at www.funpalaces.co.uk. |
During Fairtrade Fortnight, Swansea Fair Trade Forum will be presenting certificates to a number of local groups, organisations and businesses in recognition of their commitment to Fairtrade.
